UPDATE Right-of-way mowing Bids
Schley County is seeking bids for right of way mowing. The bids should be for the following roads: Road centerline lengths:
- US Highway 19 - 14.63 miles (4-Lane)
- All state roads – 38.12 miles
- County paved roads – 90.6
- All state and county roads - 143.35
The bids should cover three cycles of mowing of all roads, litter pick-up and weed eating/trimming of US-19 and the state roads. The mowing boundaries are between right-of-way markers or tree line (whichever is closest to the road). Road litter may be dumped in county dumpsters. Insurance requirements: Workers’ compensation, liability, vehicle/equipment. $1,000,000 per event/$2,000,000 Aggregate Schley County must be listed as “additional insured” Season starts around mid-May and runs through November. Exact dates will be worked out with the Schley County Road Department Director. State roads require three tractors, two bat-wing mowers, one 6’ to 8’ mower, shadow/buffer vehicle. County roads can be mowed with your choice of tractors and mowers Signage, flags, lights per GA DoT standards. Contractors may use their proposal forms for bids. Pricing should be for a three-year period for annual renewal contingent on GADOT approval for Schley County to continue mowing state rights-of-way. Bids must be received in the clerk’s office by noon on February 26, 2026. Bid opening will be at 1:00 PM, February 26, in the conference room located at 14 South Broad Street, Ellaville, GA.
