NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE The Schley County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2026 millage rate which will require an increase in property tax of 12.48 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on the tax increase to be held at the Schley County Courtroom at 47 N. Pecan Street, Ellaville, GA 31806, on October 8.2026, at 9:00 a.m. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Schley County Courtroom at 47 N. Pecan Street, Ellaville, GA 31806, on October 15.2026, at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 13.094 mills, an increase of 1.453 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 11.641 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $101.71 and the proposed tax increase for non- homestead property with a fair market value of S125,OOO is approximately $72.65.
